Creamware Basket of Cherries and Preserves
This painting features in ‘The Art of Pamela Kay’ by Michael Spender, published in 1993 by David and Charles. The centifolia rose has a short flowering period, and doesn’t repeat, so it has to be painted when it is ready. This glass of old fashioned centifolias and daisies are arranged with a Leeds Creamware pierced dish, full of cherries. The colour range is limited, the rich reds complemented by a great variety of neutral warm and cool greys.
